Yantriki
2001: "Yantriki" is the annual Robotics
competition of IIT Bombay.
This year the aim of
the competition was to make a robot that could play water polo. My team members
were, Ambit Jain, IVth year Computer Science. Nikhilesh Ghuse,
IInd year Mechanical Engg and Mritu also form IInd year
Mechanical Engg.
Interestingly
we were the only team that could make a working machine
for the Third, or the "DREADED" round. The machines of
this round are AUTONOMOUS,
hence only in water they have to do all the thinking...............
The sad part was that in spite of all the studgiri on the
mechanical front and the godgiri on
the Electronics section ( by the way this part was (mis)managed by me
!!!), this "Yellow Submarine" never was able to catch any ping pong
balls in the water polo tank. For details on the robotics part contact me. mayank@ee.ucla.edu

Yantriki 1999:
Yantriki 1999, required
the participants to make SUMO Wrestlers, that would fight in a circular ring,
in a three minute bout and the fastest and strongest would win. My
partners were Deepak Kumar , Sachin
Shukla and Sameer Ranjan,
all from IIIrd year Electrical Engg. Unfortunately I don't have pictures
for this Brute. Again this machine was made for the 3rd level, but we
lost to the Winner of the competition in the second round of fight. : (
